وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ آدَمَ إِلَّا قَدْ أَخْطَأَ ، أَوْ هَمَّ [ بِخَطِيئَةٍ ] لَيْسَ يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَزَادَ : " فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَهُمَّ بِهَا وَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا " . وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَضَعَّفَهُ الْجُمْهُورُ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every one of the children of Adam has either committed a wrong or intended a wrong, except Sayyiduna Yahya bin Zakariyya (peace be upon him), who did not do so."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Bazzar also recorded it, adding these words: "He never intended it, and he never acted on it."
Al-Tabarani also recorded it. Its chain contains Ali bin Zayd, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy, and the rest of Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
