It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The blood (that is, the life), honour and wealth of a Muslim are sacred to another Muslim. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not wrong him and he does not forsake him. Taqwa (God-consciousness) is here." The narrator says: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this pointing with his hand toward his heart, (and then he said:) "It is enough evil for a person that he looks down on his Muslim brother." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The author of al-Atraf attributed an abridged form of this narration to Abu Dawud, in a recension other than the one transmitted by al-Lu'lu'i.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
