A man from Banu Salit narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was among a crowd of people, and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim; he does not wrong him and he does not forsake him, and taqwa (God-consciousness) is here." The narrator Hammad says: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this pointing with his blessed hand toward his chest.
Ahmad recorded it with several chains, and its chain is hasan (good); Abu Ya'la also recorded something similar.
