وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا وُلِدَ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ غُلَامٌ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ فِيهِمْ عِزٌّ لَمْ يَكُنْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ هَاشِمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ وَلَمْ يَجْرَحْهُ وَلَمْ يُوَثِّقْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a boy is born in a household, a strength comes among them that was not there before."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Hashim bin Salih, whom Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned without criticising him or declaring him trustworthy, and the remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.
