وَعَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ أَخَذَ حَسَنًا فَقَبَّلَهُ ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْهَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Aswad bin Khalaf (may Allah be pleased with him) reports concerning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he took Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a child, and kissed him; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards the people and said: "Indeed children make one miserly, ignorant and cowardly."
