Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13316

Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites a line of poetry after the Isha prayer, his prayer of that night is not accepted."
Imam Ahmad, al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it. Its chain contains Qaza'ah bin Suwayd al-Bahili, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy) and others declared da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
