Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I shall soon tell you about the affairs of people and their differences (that is, how they differ in rank). A man may be quick to anger and quick to calm down; there is no sin upon him and no reward for him either; it is an even matter. A man may be slow to anger and quick to calm down; this man will have reward and there is no sin upon him. A man seeks what is his due and pays what he owes; there is nothing for him and nothing against him. And there is the man who seeks what is his due but puts people off regarding what he owes; such a man will bear sin and receive no reward."
Al-Bazzar recorded it through Abd al-Rahman bin Sharik from his father; both of them are thiqah (trustworthy), though there is weakness in both. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
