وَعَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَأَنَّمَا عَلَى رُءُوسِنَا الطَّيْرُ ، مَا يَتَكَلَّمُ مِنَّا مُتَكَلِّمٌ ، إِذْ جَاءَهُ نَاسٌ فَقَالُوا : مَنْ أَحَبُّ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ؟ قَالَ : " أَحْسَنُهُمْ أَخْلَاقًا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Usamah bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as if birds were perched on our heads; none of us was speaking. Meanwhile some people came to him and said: "Who among the servants of Allah is most beloved to Allah Almighty?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one whose character is best."
