Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12676

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the best of you? The people said: Yes. He said: Those best in character (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) whoever among you is best in character."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Suhayl bin Abi Hazm, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy), and a group declared him da'if (weak).
