وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَيَّ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا الْمُوَطَّئُونَ أَكْنَافًا ، الَّذِينَ يَأْلَفُونَ وَيُؤْلَفُونَ . وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَيَّ الْمَشَّاؤُونَ بِالنَّمِيمَةِ ، الْمُفَرِّقُونَ بَيْنَ الْأَحِبَّةِ ، الْمُلْتَمِسُونَ لِلْبُرَآءِ الْعَيْبَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ صَالِحُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ الْمُرِّيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most beloved of you to me will be those whose character is best and whose sides are spread out, who show affection and are shown affection. And the most disliked of you to me will be those who go about carrying tales, who cause division between friends, and who seek out people's faults."
