وَعَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ : يَا خَلِيلِي ، حَسِّنْ خُلُقَكَ وَلَوْ مَعَ الْكُفَّارِ ، تَدْخُلْ مَدْخَلَ الْأَبْرَارِ ، وَإِنَّ كَلِمَتِي سَبَقَتْ لِمَنْ حَسُنَ خُلُقُهُ أَنْ أُظِلَّهُ تَحْتَ عَرْشِي ، وَأَنْ أَسْقِيَهُ مِنْ حَظِيرَةِ قُدْسِي ، وَأَنْ أُدْنِيَهُ مِنْ جِوَارِي " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُؤَمِّلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

It is narrated from him: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty revealed to Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him): O My Khalil (intimate friend)! Keep your character good, even if it is with the disbelievers; you will enter where the righteous enter. My word has already gone forth for those whose character is good, that I will shade them beneath My Throne, give them to drink from My Hazirat al-Quds (enclosure of holiness), and keep them in My nearness."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Mu'ammal bin Abd al-Rahman al-Thaqafi, who is da'if (weak).
