وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَجِيءُ رَايَاتٌ سُودٌ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ ، وَتَخُوضُ الْخَيْلُ فِي الدِّمَاءِ إِلَى ثَنْدُوَتِهَا " . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ وَهُوَ لَيِّنٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Black banners will come from the direction of the east, and horses will wade in blood up to their chests." After this the narrator mentioned the full hadith. Its chain contains Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, who is weak. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
