عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ فَيَفْتِنُونَ ، فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا وَفِيهِمْ ضَعْفٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The throne of Iblis is upon the sea. Then he sends out his troops so that they put people to trial, and the greatest of them in his sight is the one who puts (a person) into the greatest trial."
