وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ، وَسَيَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ أُمَرَاءُ يَعْمَلُونَ مَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا لَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ، مَنْ أَنْكَرَ فَقَدْ سَلِمَ ، وَلَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will come over you rulers who will act according to their knowledge and do what they have been commanded; then after them there will come rulers who will act on what they have no knowledge of and do what they have not been commanded. Whoever objects will be safe, but whoever is pleased and follows (them) (his case is different)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Maslamah bin Ali, who is matruk (abandoned).
