In a narration of al-Tabarani, reported from Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him), it is mentioned that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Every nation has a fixed term, and the fixed term of my Ummah is one hundred years. When one hundred years have passed over my Ummah, there will come upon them that which Allah Almighty has promised them." Ibn Lahi'ah says: This means the abundance of trials. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah and Hudayj bin Abi Amr, or Hudayj bin Amr, as it is mentioned in one of al-Tabarani's two narrations; Ibn Hibban declared this narrator thiqah (trustworthy), but Ibn Lahi'ah is da'if (weak).
