Qays bin Adi narrates: On the day of Basra I heard Amr bin Thabit say: I swear by the name of Allah that the enemy army will be routed and they will turn their backs and flee. A man from the Nakha' tribe said: O Abu al-Yaqzan! I seek refuge in Allah from shirk (associating partners with Him), in that you say something of which you have no knowledge. Amr bin Thabit said: In that case I would be worse than a camel whose halter is dragged between Najd and Tihamah, if I say something of which I have no knowledge.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Thabit al-Bakri, and he is matruk (abandoned).
