Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), while delivering a sermon, praised and extolled Allah Almighty and said: "Soon after you there will come people who will deny stoning (as a rightful punishment), the Dajjal, intercession and the punishment of the grave, and (who will deny) that some people will be taken out of Hell after they have been burnt to charcoal."
Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith, and Abu Ya'la recorded it in al-Kabir and added the words: "They will deny the rising of the sun from the west." Its chain contains a narrator, Ali bin Zayd, who has a poor memory, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
