Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked good dreams, and sometimes he would ask: "Has any of you seen a dream?" The narrator says: When a man had seen a dream, he would ask about it, and if there was nothing wrong in it, it would be a dream he (or that person) liked all the more. The narrator says: Once a woman came and submitted: O Messenger of Allah, I saw in a dream as if I had entered Paradise. There I heard a resounding sound by which Paradise reverberated. When I looked, there was so-and-so son of so-and-so coming, until the woman counted twelve men. These were people whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent out earlier on a military expedition. (The woman said:) When they came, they were wearing dark, dusty-grey clothes and blood was flowing from their veins. It was said: Take them to the land of Baydakh (the narrator is unsure whether the words were:) to the river of Baydakh, and immerse them there. Then they came out of it with faces like the moon on the night of the full moon. Then they came to chairs of gold and sat on them. Then a platter was brought in which there were dates, and they began eating from it; they kept eating various fruits from those platters, and I also ate fruit with them. The narrator says: When the man bringing news of that expedition came, he submitted: O Messenger of Allah, such and such happened to us, and so-and-so were martyred, and he counted the very same twelve men whom the woman had counted. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bring that woman to me. When the woman came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Relate your dream before this man. The woman related the dream. The narrator says: It was exactly as the woman had related (the dream) before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
