Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11634

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Everything has a peak, and the peak of the Qur'an is Surah al-Baqarah. Everything has a core, and the core of the Qur'an is the Mufassal (surahs). The devils leave the house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited, and the smallest of houses is the one in which there is nothing of the Book of Allah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Bahdalah, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but has some weakness; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
