Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11416

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) relates concerning this statement of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says): "O you who believe! Do not take as allies a people upon whom Allah Almighty is angry; they have despaired of the Hereafter." (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says:) That is, they will not believe in it and will not be rewarded. This refers to the disbeliever who, when he dies, sees his recompense (that is, his outcome and requital) and becomes aware of it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
