Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11387

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Rahman before his Companions, and they remained silent. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The jinn gave a better response than you. Whenever I recited this verse before them: "So which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?", they said: "O our Lord! We deny nothing of Your favours, and all praise belongs to You alone."
Al-Bazzar recorded it from his teacher Amr bin Malik al-Rasibi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) while others declared him da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
