َوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَأَنْتُمْ سَامِدُونَ
The words of Allah the Exalted: "While you are amusing yourselves"
Majma al-Zawaid 11380 — The words of Allah the Exalted
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَنْتُمْ سَامِدُونَ قَالَ : كَانُوا يَمُرُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - شَامِخِينَ ، أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الْعِجْلِ كَيْفَ يَخْطِرُ شَامِخًا . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated (Allah Almighty says): "And you are in play (that is, heedlessness)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: They used to pass by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrogantly. Have you not seen a calf, how it moves about arrogantly?
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains the narrator al-Dahhak bin Muzahim, who has been declared trustworthy and in whom there is weakness; the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy), but he did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
Abu Ya'la recorded it.
