قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ .

عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ لِأَنَّهُمْ تَمَنَّوُا الدُّنْيَا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Amr bin Hurayth narrates: This verse was revealed about the People of the Suffah: "If Allah Almighty were to extend provision for His servants, they would rebel in the land." The reason for this is that they had longed for the world.
