قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ .
The words of Allah the Exalted: "He will surely grant them succession in the land"

عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَصْحَابُهُ الْمَدِينَةَ ، وَآوَتْهُمُ الْأَنْصَارُ ، رَمَتْهُمُ الْعَرَبُ عَنْ قَوْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فَنَزَلَتْ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ الْآيَةَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions came to Madinah and the Ansar gave them refuge, all the Arabs united against them. So this verse was revealed concerning that: "He will surely make them successors in the land."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
