Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11127

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: (Allah Almighty says:) "And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn their backs in aversion." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: That is, the devils do so.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Rawh bin al-Musayyab. Yahya bin Ma'in says: He is suwaylih (fairly acceptable), and he declared him da'if (weak). Ibn Hibban says: It is not permissible to narrate from him. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
