Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: (Allah Almighty says:) "Allah Almighty is the ally of those who believe; He brings them out of the darknesses into the light." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: This refers to the people who rejected Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him) and then believed in Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). (Allah Almighty says:) "And those who disbelieve, their allies are the false deities (taghut), who bring them out of the light into the darkness." (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)) narrates: This refers to the people who believed in Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him), and when Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent, they rejected him (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Bilal al-Ash'ari, who is da'if (weak).
