Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When this verse was revealed: "Who is it that will lend Allah Almighty a goodly loan?" Sayyiduna Abu al-Dahdah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Does Allah Almighty want a loan from us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, O Abu al-Dahdah." He said: "Then I lend my Lord the orchard in which there are six hundred date palms." Then he came walking to that orchard. Umm al-Dahdah was in the orchard together with her children. He called out to her: "O Umm al-Dahdah!" She replied: "Here I am." He said: "Leave this orchard, for I have lent my Lord this orchard in which there are six hundred date palms."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
