Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: An effeminate man was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who had applied henna to both his hands and both his feet. The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began beating him with their shoes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep him and others like him from going to your women." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, should we not kill him?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No. I have been forbidden from killing those who pray."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Khasib bin Jahdar, who is kadhdhab (a liar). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: In the Book of Manners (Kitab al-Adab) there are some hadiths on this subject.
