Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the occasion of the battles of Qurayzah and al-Nadir, Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was struck by an arrow which cut his vein called "al-akhal". The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had it cauterised; because of this his wound became inflamed and swelled up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had it cauterised a second time, and Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Allah! Do not take my soul until You have cooled my eyes regarding Banu Qurayzah and Banu al-Nadir."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Karim Abu Umayyah, who is da'if (weak).
