وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ; أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بَعَثَ سَلِيطًا ، وَسُفْيَانَ بْنَ عَوْفٍ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ طَلِيعَةَ يَوْمِ الْأَحْزَابِ ، فَخَرَجَا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَا بِالْبَيْدَاءِ الْتَفَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ خَيْلٌ لِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، فَقَاتَلَا حَتَّى قُتِلَا ، فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَدُفِنَا فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ ، فَهُمَا الشَّهِيدَانِ الْقَرِيبَانِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ جَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
Abd al-Aziz bin Abi Bakr bin Malik bin Wahb al-Khuza'i transmits from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Salit (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Awf al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) to scout on the occasion of the Battle of the Confederates. The two of them set out, and when they reached the place called "al-Bayda'", some horsemen of Abu Sufyan came upon them. The two of them fought until both were martyred. The two of them were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and were placed in one grave; so these two were the two who were martyred together.
