Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Today I shall certainly have a man of Quraysh bound and killed." The narrator says: Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt called out at the top of his voice: "O people of Quraysh, why is it that from among all of you I am to be bound and killed?" The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It will be done) because of your disbelief in Allah Almighty and your fabricating lies against the Messenger of Allah."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Yahya bin Salamah bin Kuhayl, who is da'if (weak), though Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
