Sunan Ibn Majah 91 — Regarding the Divine Decree (Qadr)

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْخَفَّافُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : الْعَمَلُ فِيمَا جَفَّ بِهِ الْقَلَمُ ، وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ ، أَمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقْبَلٍ ؟ قَالَ : " بَلْ فِيمَا جَفَّ بِهِ الْقَلَمُ ، وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ ، وَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ ".

´It was narrated that Suraqah bin Ju'shum said:` "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), is one's deed in that which has already dried of the Pen and what has passed of the Divine Decree, or is it in the future?' He said: 'No, it is in that which he already dried of the Pen and what has passed of the Divine Decree, and each person is facilitated for what he has been created.'"

Hadith Takhrij « تفرد بہ ابن ماجہ ، ( تحفة الأشراف : 3819 ، ومصباح الزجاجة : 35 ) ، وقد أخرجہ : مسند احمد ( 2/197 ) ( صحیح ) » ( اس حدیث میں مجاہد اور سراقہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے درمیان انقطاع ہے ، لیکن ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کی حدیث سے تقویت پاکر یہ حدیث صحیح ہے ، ملاحظہ ہو : السنة لابن ابی عاصم : 169 )

A person's being righteous or wicked is also connected to predestination (qadar), but the servant does not have knowledge of this.
He is obligated to act according to the Shari‘ah.
