حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَتْ قُرَيْشٌ : " نَحْنُ قَوَاطِنُ الْبَيْتِ ، لَا نُجَاوِزُ الْحَرَمَ ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ النَّاسُ سورة البقرة آية 199 " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “The Quraish said: ‘We are the neighbors of the House and we do not leave the sanctuary.’ Allah said: ‘Then depart from the place whence all the people depart.’” [2:199]
Brief Explanation
1؎ : For this very reason, they did not perform the standing (wuquf) in Arafat, because it is located in «حل», that is, outside the Haram.
