Sunan Ibn Majah 1120 — What was narrated concerning the recitation
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِنَبَةَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ : بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ " .
It was narrated from Abu ‘Inabah Al-Khawlani that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite “Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High” and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)? [Al-A’la (87) and Al-Ghashiyah (88)] on Friday.
Brief Explanation
1؎: In another hadith, it is mentioned that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) recited Surah «ق» in Jumu'ah, and in one narration, it is mentioned that he recited Surah «قمر».
