بَابُ كَمِ التَّعْزِيرُ وَالأَدَبُ:
Chapter. What Punishment may be inflicted on the person so that he may not commit the same sin again, or so that he may learn good manners.
Sahih Bukhari 6849 — What Punishment may be inflicted on the person so
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا عُقُوبَةَ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ ضَرَبَاتٍ ، إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ " .
Narrated `Abdur-Rahman bin Jabir: On the authority of others, that the Prophet said, "No Punishment exceeds the flogging of the ten stripes, except if one is guilty of a crime necessitating a legal punishment prescribed by Allah."
