The Book of Foods (Meals)
بَابُ إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ فَلاَ يَعْجَلْ عَنْ عَشَائِهِ:
Chapter. If super or dinner is served then one should not hurry to finish it [when the time for Salat (prayer) is due].
Sahih Bukhari 5464 — If super or dinner is served then one should not
وَعَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ تَعَشَّى مَرَّةً وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ الْإِمَامِ .
Narrated Nafi: Once Ibn Umar was taking his supper while he was listening to the recitation of (Quran by) the Imam (in the Isha prayer).
