حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالدَّيْنِ قَبْلَ الْوَصِيَّةِ ، وَأَنْتُمْ تَقْرَءُونَهَا مِنْ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصَى بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ سورة النساء آية 12 ، وَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمِيرَاثِ لِبَنِي الأُمِّ وَالأَبِ ، دُونَ بَنِي الْعَلاتِ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that debt should be paid before the execution of a bequest, and you (recite in the Qur'an): "after any bequest which was made or debt" () (after the execution of a bequest and payment of debt). Also, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed inheritance in favor of real brothers instead of maternal brothers.
