Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 514 — Funerals
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا النَّضْرُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ شُمَيْلٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " كَانَ مِمَّا أُخِذَ عَلَيْنَا أَنْ لا تَنُحْنَ " .
Sayyida Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Among the pledges that were taken from us at the time of allegiance was also that we would not wail (mourn loudly).
