Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 478 — Rites of pilgrimage
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنَا مَالِكٌ ، قَالَ : ثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَدَّاحِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِرِعَاءِ الإِبِلِ فِي الْبَيْتُوتَةِ أَنْ يَرْمُوا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُوا رَمْيَ يَوْمَيْنِ بَعْدَ النَّحْرِ فَيَرْمُونَهُ فِي أَحَدِهِمَا " ، قَالَ مَالِكٌ : ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فِي الأَوَّلِ مِنْهُمَا ثُمَّ يَرْمُونَ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ .
Sayyiduna Asim bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted permission to the camel herders regarding the nights of Mina that they should stone (the Jamarat) on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr), then combine the stoning of the two days after sacrifice and perform them all in one day. Malik says: I think he said to do the stoning on the first day, then when returning from Mina, to stone (the Jamarat).
