Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 397 — Fasting
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " سَأَلَ حَمْزَةُ الأَسْلَمِيُّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، قَالَ : " إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ " .
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Hamza Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting while traveling. He said: It is up to you; if you wish, you may fast, and if you wish, you may leave it.
