Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 315 — Imam praying on a platform
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا فِي الصَّلاةِ ، وَيَقُولُ : " اسْتَووا وَلا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to hold our shoulders while we were standing in prayer and would say: "Stand in straight rows and do not differ in the rows (do not stand ahead or behind), for then your hearts will differ."
