Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 254 — Prayer for rain
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَاسْتَسْقَى ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَلَبَ رِدَاءَهُ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Ubad bin Tamim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his uncle that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the Eidgah, prayed for rain, turned his cloak while facing the Qiblah, and performed two units of prayer.
