Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 242 — Forgetfulness in prayer
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، قَالَا: ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: أَني عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ بُحَيْنَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ فَقَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَسَبَّحْنَا بِهِ فَمَضَى فِي صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ الْحَدِيثُ لِلدَّارِمِيِّ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer, and after two rak‘ahs he stood up (without sitting for tashahhud). We said «سبحان الله», but he continued the prayer, then performed two (sujood as-sahw) prostrations and ended the prayer with salam. These are the words of Ahmad bin Sa‘eed al-Darimi.
