Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To abuse a Muslim is wickedness, and to fight him is disbelief.

Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: The kunyah of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu was Abu Abdur Rahman. He was a Badri Companion and is renowned by the title Faqih al-Ummah (Jurist of the Ummah). He participated in the migration to Abyssinia and in all the battles (ghazawat). He served the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and remained in his company. For this reason, he is well-known as the one who would carry the Prophet’s cushion, miswak (tooth-stick), and shoes. He resembled the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in appearance and form. He was a reciter (qari) of the Qur’an. It is narrated in Musnad Ahmad that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever wishes to hear the Qur’an as it was revealed, let him listen to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu.” He was an expert in the circumstances of revelation (asbab al-nuzul) of the Qur’an. He narrated 840 ahadith. He passed away in Madinah in the year 32 Hijri at nearly sixty years of age.
