Sayyiduna Mahmud bin Rabi’ radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that I remember the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam very well, and I also remember him rinsing his mouth from the bucket at my house (which he poured into my mouth). Then he narrated the previous hadith from Sayyiduna ‘Itban bin Malik al-Ansari radiyallahu ‘anhu.

Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: The kunyah of Sayyiduna Mahmood bin Rabi‘ radi Allahu anhu was Abu Muhammad or Abu Nu‘aym, though the first opinion is preferred. He resided in Madinah. He states that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once rinsed his mouth from the well in our house and spat the water onto my face, and I have never forgotten that (Bukhari and Muslim). At the time of the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passing, he was five years old. He lived to the age of 93 and passed away in 99 Hijri. Most of his narrations are reported from the Companions radi Allahu anhum.
