Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when a man has intercourse with a woman but does not ejaculate, what should he do?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "He should wash whatever has touched him from the woman, then perform ablution and offer prayer."

Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: The kunyah of Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b radi Allahu anhu was Abu'l-Mundhir. He was a great reciter (qari) and teacher of recitation (muqri). Before accepting Islam, he was a prominent scholar among the Jews. After embracing Islam, he was appointed as a scribe of revelation (katib al-wahy). He participated in all the battles, including Badr and others. During the blessed life of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he had memorized the entire Qur'an and used to issue legal verdicts (fatwa). He participated in the battle of Jabiyah alongside Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu. He was the one who wrote the treaty with the people of Bayt al-Maqdis. By the order of Sayyiduna Uthman radi Allahu anhu, he took part in the compilation of the Qur'an. He passed away in Madinah Munawwarah. He narrated 164 ahadith, of which three are agreed upon (muttafaqun alayh).
