1829 صحيح حديث زَيْنَبَ ابْنَةِ جَحْشٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَزِعًا يَقُولُ: لاَ إِلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ فُتِحَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ رَدْمِ يَأجُوجَ وَمأجُوجَ مِثْلُ هذِهِ وَحَلَّقَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ الإِبْهَامِ وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا قَالَتْ زَيْنَبُ ابْنةُ جَحْشٍ: فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَهْلِكُ وَفِينَا الصَّالِحُونَ قَالَ: نَعَمْ إِذَا كَثُرَ الْخَبَثُ
Hazrat Zainab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her in a state of anxiety. Then he said, "There is no deity except Allah. Destruction will come upon the Arabs because of the evil which is drawing near. Today, Gog and Magog have made a hole this big in the wall," and the Prophet (peace be upon him) made a circle with his thumb and the finger next to it to show the size. Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Zainab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that she asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?" He replied, "Yes, when wickedness and immorality increase (then surely destruction will come)."
Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: ... Umm al-Mu’minin Hazrat Zaynab bint Jahsh Asadiyyah radi Allahu anha was the daughter of the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam paternal aunt. She was the wife of Zayd bin Harithah; later, Hazrat Zayd radi Allahu anhu divorced her, after which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam married her. Her name was Barrah before; after the marriage, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam named her Zaynab. She was renowned for her piety, God-consciousness (taqwa), and generosity. The verses regarding veiling (hijab) were revealed because of her. Hazrat Aishah radi Allahu anha stated that among the Mothers of the Believers, only Hazrat Zaynab was my ???. I have not seen a woman better than Hazrat Zaynab radi Allahu anha in matters of religion. She narrated (11) ahadith. She passed away in 20 Hijri. Hazrat Umar radi Allahu anhu led her funeral prayer.
