Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) along with his companions and said: O Messenger of Allah! The people of the tribe of Daus have become rebellious and refuse to listen to the word of Allah. Please pray against them. Some of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said that now the people of Daus will be destroyed. But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Allah! Guide the people of Daus and bring them (into the fold of Islam).

Brief Explanation
Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu was also from the tribe of Daws. The people had requested a supplication against them, but the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instead supplicated for their guidance, which was accepted, and later the people of this tribe happily embraced Islam. (Raaz)
