Hazrat Saeed bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Truffle (i.e., mushroom) is from the manna, and its water is a cure for the eye."

Brief Explanation
Imam Nawawi rahimahullah has written in his commentary on Sahih Muslim that it is said that only its water is a cure, whereas according to some, what is meant is that when its water is mixed with a medicine with which the eye is treated, then it is a cure. According to one opinion, if the heat present in the eye subsides, then its pure water alone is a cure; otherwise, it should be used in combination with some medicine. But the correct and sound view is that its pure water itself is absolutely a cure for the eye; its water should be extracted and put into the eye. I and my contemporaries have seen that there was a blind person whose sight had completely gone; he put the pure water of the mushroom into his eyes and was cured, and his sight returned. This was Shaykh ‘Adil Ayman Kamal bin ‘Abdullah Dimashqi, who was very pious and a narrator of hadith. Having complete faith in the hadith and seeking blessing from it, he used the water of the mushroom. And Allah knows best. (Compiler)
