Hadith 128

Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Noble Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) openly say: "The children of so-and-so are not my close ones." (Even though there is a blood relationship with them.) "My true friend is Allah, and my close ones are those who are righteous and pious among the Muslims (even if there is no blood relationship with them). However, there is a kinship between me and them; if they maintain it, I will also maintain it, that is, if they uphold the ties, I will also uphold them."
